Lots of catching up, great food, and lots of kids running around. And before you know it, Santa is arriving. Santa gave each kid one present, we did some photo ops with Santa, then, when he left, the kids were able to open their other gifts from under the tree. A great night! Christmas day, just about everyone came back to Daryl & Angies for brunch. More great food, visiting, and kids playing with new toys. Christmas evening plans included a get together for a third annual Korean dinner. As luck would have it, only myself, Raymond, Cheryl, & Michael made the occasion. But still great fun! Just wish more of the family & friends could have enjoyed it with us.
Daryl,Angie, and the girls had plans for the New Years week-end. They were meeting up with friends for a camp out, and motorcycling trip in the desert. Just a hour and a half from where they live. Raymond and I drove out to their camp site New Years Eve day. My sister-in-law Meredith (late brother John's wife) and nephew Sean, also drove up to spend the day. My neice, Malia (Sean's sister) had made the trip with Daryl, Angie, & the girls. We spent the day enjoying 70 degree weather, then Ray & I spent the night with them in their camper/toy hauler.
There was a group of 10 or so familys that attended the camp out. All friends, and friends of friends. Everyone watches over, and out for the kids, they set up a track for the kids to ride, and the adults supervise while the kids are out riding the track. It really is great family fun, it brought back memories of the times I took my boys motorcycling in the desert. Their toys are better, but the fun and memories are the same.
After getting all the gear and motorcycles packed up on New Years day, Ray and I drove back to get my things together for my departure at the airport that evening. I arrived at the Medford airport at 11:55 pm, and Cousins Jim and Sandi were there waiting for me. I was one tired, but happy guy. I'm looking forward to the time that I will be able to work less, and spend more time with family and friends, and doing the things that make great memories! I hope your holiday time was as memorable, and as enjoyable as mine were. My love to you all.
